Genuinely excellent local businesses — full rooms, loyal regulars, years of hard work — that were almost completely invisible online. Not because they weren't good enough. Because nobody had ever sat down and looked properly at what customers actually saw when they searched for them.

The audit format came from frustration. I wanted to show business owners exactly what I was seeing — competitor by competitor, platform by platform — rather than just telling them things were broken. The research takes hours. The reports are long. That's deliberate. When you've built something with your own hands, you deserve more than a generic checklist.
I'm not trying to build the biggest agency. I'm trying to be the most useful one — the person who actually understands your business well enough to handle the digital side of it properly, so you don't have to think about it.
Steady Drift isn't a conventional agency, and it isn't trying to be one. The name is deliberate: no manufactured urgency, no hype, no pressure to close. We work with a small number of clients on purpose, because quality erodes the moment it's spread across too many accounts at once. If we're at capacity, we say so — a waitlist is a sign of a healthy business, not a problem to paper over with a discount.
A traditional agency is a supplier — you brief them, they deliver, you pay, and their accountability ends at delivery. Steady Drift works alongside clients rather than at arm's length: holding context about the business over time, flagging problems before being asked, and staying engaged after launch rather than moving on to the next project.
| A traditional agency | Steady Drift |
|---|---|
| Delivers a project and moves on | Stays engaged after launch |
| Responds when contacted | Proactively flags what we notice |
| Scopes narrowly to protect margin | Recommends what the business actually needs |
| Measures success at delivery | Measures success at outcome — bookings, enquiries, revenue |
| Renews on contract | Renews because the work is worth it — month-to-month, no lock-in |
We'd rather show you three real, named results next year than three anonymous composites today. Here's what this section will hold as engagements complete — built now so it's ready the moment there's something real to put in it.
Real client, real before/after, real numbers — replacing the illustrative examples currently on the Work page.
